1. From the app (fastest)

1. Open Dareo.
2. Go to the Profile tab, then Settings.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. Confirm. This action is permanent.

Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out of all your devices.

2. By email

If you no longer have access to the app, write to contact@getdareo.com with the subject "Account deletion" and your username. If your account is saved with Apple or Google, write from the email address of that account. We process the request within 30 days at most, in practice within a few business days, and confirm the deletion by email.

So that nobody can delete your account in your place, we may ask you to prove that it's yours (for example by writing a code we give you in your bio).

3. What is deleted, and when

• Immediately: the account is deactivated, your username is replaced with a neutral placeholder, your sessions are closed, your notification tokens are revoked and your dare links stop working. You no longer appear on the leaderboard.
• Within 30 days at most: permanent deletion of your account and personal information (Apple or Google identifier, email address, date of birth, gender, country, bio, profile picture, settings), your answers to challenges, your dare photos and your messages (including in your opponents' history and conversations), as well as your identifier at our purchase provider. Backups that may still contain them are overwritten within the same period.

During these 30 days, the data is no longer used and can no longer be accessed from the app. Once purged, it can't be recovered.

4. What may be kept, and why

• Reports made against your account: 1 year maximum, to deal with repeat offenses and respond to the authorities, unless a longer retention is required by law.
• Transaction records (transaction identifier, date, product, amount): up to 10 years, for our accounting obligations.
• Technical logs (IP addresses, errors): 12 months maximum, for the security of the service and our legal obligations.
• Invoices and purchase history: they are issued and kept by Apple or Google, and remain available in your App Store or Google Play account. We can't delete them.
• Support exchanges: up to 3 years, to follow up on any complaint.
• Your coins are lost. Coins, earned or bought, are virtual items with no cash value: they are neither refunded nor transferable when the account is deleted. Dareo has no subscription, so there is nothing to cancel.

5. Delete some data without deleting your account

• A match or your whole history: from your match history, delete a match or the whole history. Your answers and photos from those matches are erased, for you and for your opponent.
• Profile: in Profile, then Edit profile, you can clear your bio, profile picture, gender and country.
• Notifications: turn them off in the app settings or in your phone settings.
