Safety is enforced by our server, not by a checkbox. These rules apply in every mode, every vibe, every match.
13 and up only
Your date of birth is asked once at sign up and can't be changed later. Under 13, sign up is refused.
Minors never play with adults
Players aged 13 to 17 only play and chat with players their own age. Every mode: link, QR, rematch, chat.
No sexual content
Nothing sexual, dangerous or involving someone outside the game. And you can always skip a challenge, no questions asked.
Blurred photos, gone in 30 days
Dare photos are taken in the app, never from your gallery. They arrive blurred (always for minors) and are deleted after 30 days.
Report and block, everywhere
One tap from a match, a result, your history, the chat or a profile. Our team reviews every report.
No ads, no location
No advertising, no ad trackers, no geolocation. Contact details are filtered out of chats between minors.

Is Dareo free?
Yes. Download it and play for free. You earn coins just by playing, and optional coin packs are available as in-app purchases. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically.
Does my friend need the app to take my dare?
Not to scan it. Your QR or link opens a web page showing your dare. If they install Dareo from there, they land straight in your room, and they get 100 coins as a welcome gift. Already have the app? The link opens it directly.
Who can play?
Anyone 13 and up. Players under 18 only ever play and chat with players their own age, and adults only with adults. CHAOS and matches with new players are unlocked from 16 with a saved account.
Do I need an account?
No, you can start as a guest. Saving your account with Apple or Google keeps your progress and coins when you change phones, and unlocks CHAOS, matches with new players, the chat and the leaderboard.
What if a dare makes me uncomfortable?
Skip it. The skip button is always there, no explanation needed. You can also lower the maximum intensity in your settings, and report any challenge you think crosses a line.
Is DareoBot a real person?
No. DareoBot is a bot, clearly labeled as one in the app. It's there so you never have to wait for a game.
What happens to my photos and answers?
Only your opponent in that match can see them. Photos are blurred on arrival and deleted after 30 days, and you can delete a match or your whole history anytime. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile, then Settings, then Delete my account. You can also email us. Everything is explained on the account deletion page.
